Gluten: What’s the big deal?

Dr. Kyle will discuss how gluten can negatively affect your health Monday, Dec. 8, at 7 p.m. at the Lamberton Community Center.

There is no cost to attend and refreshments will be served.

Have you heard about how common gluten-related health problems are? Did you know digestive problems, diarrhea, weight loss, mouth ulcers, joint pain, rash of unknown origin, abdominal pain, chronic fatigue, weakness, bloating, irritable bowel-like symptoms and an inability to concentrate can all be caused by your body’s reaction to gluten?

Alessio Fasano, M.D., once said, “Imagine gluten ingestion on a spectrum. At one end, you have people with celiac disease, who cannot tolerate one crumb of gluten in their diet. At the other end, you have the lucky people who can eat pizza, pasta and cookies, and have no ill effects whatsoever.”

The only way to know where on this spectrum your body’s reaction to gluten intake fits is to get tested. Then we can formulate a personalized plan of attack to help you get healthier.

At Dr. Pankonin’s presentation, you will learn a common sense nutrition and vitamin supplementation strategy to improve your health. What could you do if you felt better? Travel? Enjoy more time with family? Have more energy for hobbies or reaching goals? Let us help you discover the benefits of better health.

The talk should last about an hour and all are welcome to attend.
